Configuring the Siebel Server

The physical (or virtual) machine where the Siebel Server software is installed can be configured to host one or more Siebel Server instances. For a simple demonstration environment, one Siebel Server is sufficient.

Again, the Siebel Configuration Wizard is responsible for prompting the administrator for the correct values for the parameters specific to a Siebel Server. We should highlight the fact that we can undertake the configuration of a Siebel Server only when the following activities have been successfully completed:

• Installing, configuring, and starting the Siebel Gateway Name Server
• Registering a Siebel Enterprise with the Siebel Gateway Name Server
• Configuring the Siebel Database
